Flood Relief Scheme for Wexford Town on the Agenda At Event This Month

A Public Participation Day will be held in Wexford Town later this month to discuss flood relief options for the area.

Residents and interested parties are invited to the event at Whites Hotel on the 24th of August with a start time of 4pm.

At the talk, participants will be able to view each shortlisted option, see the constaints and opportunities, speak directly with project team members and share your views by completing a questionnaire.

The event will be run by Wexford County Council who says "your participation is valued and will support the decision-making process in selecting an emerging Preferred Flood Relief Option."

The works will be carried out by the council along with the Nicholas O'Dwyer group, one of Ireland's largest engineering and environmental consultancies.

The display information and questionnaire will be available on-line at the project website for those that are not able to attend on the day.

More information can be found at www.floodinfo.ie/frs/en/wexford/home.

It's the second such Public Participation Day to be held in relation to a similar scheme this month as an event on coastal erosion will be held in Rosslare on the 20th of August to discuss future plans there.

That report was funded by the Local Democracy Reporting Scheme.
