Flu cases show increase on last year
The number of flu cases in the first five weeks of the year are up more than two and a half times the same period in 2015. A report produced by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre shows there have been 1,095 cases reported from January 1st until February 6th. It was 430 for the same five weeks last year. It comes after a number of patients at Wexford General Hospital were confirmed to have the H1N1 or swine flu strain.
