A Ballykelly woman who disrupted a speech by the environment Minister and superglued herself to a Government Building yesterday says she did so to highlight the Government's alleged failure to tackle climate change.
Susan Breen, a member of the Extinction Rebellion group interrupted the Environment Minister Richard Bruton on Monday and held up a banner, which was quickly pulled down. The Minister was forced to stop his speech when more protesters began shouting. They also situated themselves outside the Mnister's office for several hours by using adhesive to form a human chain. Ms Breen, who ran as a People Before Profit candidate in the recent local elections, says the government is still not properly recognising climate change.
