Former us presidential candidate john mccain diagnosed with brain cancer

Barack Obama has described Republican senator John McCain as 'one of the bravest fighters he's ever known', after he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.

The pair stood against each other at the 2008 US election. The former president's tweeted saying 'cancer doesn't know what it's up against', and urged Mr McCain to 'give it hell'.
