Garda commissioner to address wexford county council
The Garda Commissioner Noirin O'Sullivan is to address a meeting of Wexford County Council. It will be the first time the Commissioner has addressed a meeting of a local authority. It comes as the first meeting of the Joint County Wexford Policing Committee was held yesterday, at which Councillor Michael Whelan from Ballycullane was elected chairman. Commissioner O'Sullivan will address the May meeting of Wexford County Council and will speak on a number of policing issues. Chairman of the County Council Malcolm Byrne says he asked her to come and speak about the relationship between Gardai and local authorities. He says there's been a big problem with rural crime, something which we in County Wexford have experienced.
