A workplace incident resulted in a small fire at Courtown Hotel yesterday morning.
A significant amount of smoke was reported in the building which is currently being used a direct provision centre. The building was evacuated and emergency services were called to the scene and the fire was brought under control quickly. Gardaí in Gorey say they are not investigating the fire and it was simply a result of a workplace accident during construction works on the property.
