Gardai search for man following co. wexford robbery and carjacking
Two men have been arrested after an armed robbery and a carjacking in Co Wexford. Two masked men attempted to rob the Permanent TSB in Gorey shortly before 1 this afternoon, with what's believed to be a handgun, but they fled empty handed after the panic alarm was activated. Gardai persued their black Fiat Punto - driven by a third raider - out the Arklow Road, and the men hijacked a Toyota Corolla at Kilmurry Cross. Two of the men were caught by Gardai as they tried to hijack another car - one was pepper sprayed - and a firearm was recovered in a field nearby. One Garda received minor injuries in the incident. The Garda helicopter is still searching for one of the men, and the other two - in their 20s - are being held at Enniscorthy and Gorey Garda Stations.
