In a recent checkpoint operation at Riverchapel, Courtown, Gardaí seized two vehicles for serious road violations. One vehicle was confiscated for lacking insurance, while the other was found to have an expired National Car Test (NCT) that had run out in 2024.
During the search of the second vehicle, Gardaí discovered that the driver was in possession of cannabis. Both drivers will now face summonses to appear in court.
The checkpoint, aimed at enhancing road safety and ensuring compliance with vehicle regulations, resulted in significant actions. Gardaí reminded drivers of the importance of maintaining valid insurance and NCTs both of which are vital for the safety of all road users.
