Gardaí will be conducting a crime prevention initiative in the Gimount area of Enniscorthy today Wednesday, January 21st from 2pm to 5pm The operation is part of Operation Homesafe, a Wexford-based initiative aimed at reducing burglary and improving home security in local communities. During the operation, uniformed Gardaí will engage directly with residents to offer practical advice on home security and provide Home Security Checks to help identify potential vulnerabilities in homes. The focus will be on reducing opportunities for burglars, particularly during the shorter daylight hours when homes are more likely to be left unattended. Residents in the area may receive Home Security reminder leaflets, which are legitimate Garda communications highlighting areas where homes may be vulnerable to break-ins. Gardaí are urging people to take simple precautions to protect their property. These include: - Locking all doors and windows - Lighting up your home when out - Keeping valuables out of sight - Using a home alarm system - Being vigilant and reporting suspicious activity to Gardaí
