Gaza ceasefire holds as uk minister resigns in protest
Israel has withdrawn its troops from Gaza, as a three day ceasefire appears to be working on both sides. Talks on a more long-term truce will now be held in Egypt. A British Foreign Office Minister, Sayeeda Warsi, has resigned over what she calls the British government's 'morally indefensible' response to the crisis in Gaza. She wanted greater condemnation of Israeli airstrikes that have killed hundreds of civilians. Reporter Jason Farrell reads out her statement on stepping down. "More recently our approach and language during the current crisis in Gaza is morally indefensible, is not in Britain's national interest and will have a long term detrimental impact on our reputation internationally and domestically" he said.
