Met Éireann are describing talk of an Irish heatwave as a bit ambitious. The sun is expected to make an appearance over the next couple of days with temperatures due to reach the high to late teens. However meteorologist with Met Éireann, Joanna Donnelly, says we should not count our chickens too soon. "The high pressure started to build yesterday, and today that ridge (is) becoming more established" she said. "There's a bit of front coming through, bringing a bit more cloudy conditions and some patchy rain for today - but tomorrow it should be drier, brighter, and temperatures up to around 20 degrees tomorrow". "So Thursday probably the best day, Friday is good (and) we'll leave it at that for now because this high might be short-lived" she added.
