GOODNews FOR ORGANISATIONS WHO LOST SSNO FUNDING

The new Environment Minister has agreed to restore funding to organisations which lost out under the SSNO scheme. It's understood 26 disability organisations will have funding restored for a 12 month period. Many of the groups, which were previously funded under the Scheme for Support for National Organisations, would have faced a sudden financial loss, with some threatened with closure. Minister Alan Kelly is understood to have signed off on the restoration of funding a short time ago.
