Gorey Ambulance Hub Will Be Based In Ballylougan Business Park

A planning application has been lodged to establish a new permanent ambulance base just outside Gorey.

The long awaited medical services hub will be based in the Ballyloughan Business Park on the Arklow Road.

A current industrial unit will be transformed to allow for 4 ambulances parking spots, 1 emergency response vehicle parking spot and a dedicated ambulance wash bay.

The application has been made by the HSE while the final date for third party submissions is October 27th.

The project has experienced delays this year as the Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll McNeill told Wicklow Wexford TD Brian Brennan this time last year that a suitable facility had been identified.

She also confirmed last October that the HSE was "working to appoint a design team in this quarter with the aim of submitting a planning application in early 2026 to progress the project,”

It's more good news for the town as a decision on the tender for the long-awaited Gorey Primary Care Centre is expected shortly.

Earlier this year, the current Gorey Ambulance Station received a major boost with the deployment of six new paramedics, understood to be the largest deployment ever to the station.
