Gorey dunnes staff continue to work despite store closure
Staff at Dunnes Store in Gorey continue to turn up for work, despite the store being closed to the public. Management at Dunnes decided to close the store last Thursday after a High court injunction preventing the company from continuing to use a door that opened directly on to Gorey Shopping Centre car park. The injunction was taken by Paul McCann and Stephen Tennant of Grant Thornton, who were appointed by AIB to run the centre. They complained the use of the door was in breach of Dunnes lease obligations. Mandate Trade Union says it's unacceptable for the workers to be used as pawns in this situation.
