Government group to meet today to discuss the recent storms
The Government's Emergency Response Group will today discuss the possibility of emergency funding for areas effeted by storm damage. The Junior Finance Minister, Brian Hayes, has already indicated funds will be made available to help those worst effected. Strong winds and high tides have caused coastal damage across County Wexford. The surface of the cark park in Cahore in North Wexford was washed away, while damage was also reported in Duncannon as a result of the adverse conditions. The President of the Irish Claims Consultants Association, Eamon Downey, says people need to be able to get help fast.
