Gra defends gardai's use of balaclavas at housing protest

The Garda Representative Association is defending members against criticism from the new Garda Commissioner.

Drew Harris said the Public Order Unit should not have worn balaclavas at a housing protest in North Frederick Street in Dublin. But GRA President, Jim Mulligan defended the use of balaclavas as part of the uniform and equipment given to the unit.
