Greece formally asks for extension on eu loan agreement
It looks like the crisis over Greece's finances may be coming to an end - temporarily. Athens has formally requested a six-month bridging loan from its European creditors, who'll meet tomorrow to decide whether to approve it. Greece's new government hopes that'll give it enough time to re-negotiate the terms of its bailout. Last night, the European Central Bank extended its emergency funding for Greek banks with fears they could have run out of money within weeks.
