Howlin confident committee will get to the bottom of crc top-up controversy
The Central Remedial Clinic CEO Brian Conlon resigned yesterday over the scandal which saw charitable funds used to "top-up" executive salaries. However he is refusing to appear before the Public Accounts Committee. Minister Brendan Howlin the Public Expenditure Minister says the PAC has the power to summon Mr. Conlon. And he says he is confident the full facts will emerge. "I've every confidence in the Public Accounts Committee, there are a robust committee with powers, they work on an all-party basis and my experience is that they normally get to the bottom of things" he said. "So I think they will pursue this until they get the full facts and then we'll know them" he added.
