Labour leader Brendan Howlin aims to double the party's membership and Dail representation after the next election.
The party is embarking on a rebuilding programme after having its TD's reduced from thirty seven down to seven after the last election. The party strategy going forward is to focus more on the working class vote. Brendan Howlin says the party is heartened with over one thousand joining in recent months.
