Hse gives long term commitment to gorey district hospital

The HSE are fully committed to the future of Gorey District Hospital. That's according to the Area Manager for Primary, Community and Continuing Care Services in the South East Anna Marie Lanigan. She was speaking last Friday when two new palliative care rooms and a family room were officially opened at the hospital. It follows recent fears over the possible closure of the healthcare facility after a HIQA report was published. Anna Marie Lanigan says the HSE are fully commited to the hospital. She says it provides a vital service and that standards will have to be met but that's part of the course, the same as anywhere else.
