The HSE is warning members of the public about a scam text message currently circulating involving Medical Cards.
The fraudulent messages claim to come from the HSE and tell recipients that they must pay a delivery fee for a new Medical Card.
People are then directed towards a link where they may be asked to provide personal or banking information.
The HSE says it will never ask people to provide banking details or make payments by text message.
Anyone who receives such a message is being advised not to click any links and to delete the text.
People who have already provided financial information are being urged to contact their bank immediately.
