Hundreds protest over power pylons on vinegar hill
A protest march against Eirgrid's plans for new sets of electricity pylons across the country is getting underway on Vinegar Hill outside Enniscorthy. The company says the pylon project is essential to ensure the country's energy needs in future years. but many homeowners object strongly to the potential safety hazards the pylons would pose, as well as a loss of value on their homes. Several hundred people from all over the country braved the bad weather to assemble for the march.
