Increase in number of children accessing services of Tusla

Over 23 thousand children received a family support service in 2021, according to new figures.

Tusla says providing assistance in the early in the stage of a difficulty can prevent situations getting worse. By the end of 2021, the agency had almost 6 thousand children in care. Tusla says foster care is a crucial for children who can no longer remain the family home.
