The Minister for Social Protection says it's disappointing that Ireland ranks among the worst in Europe for meeting people's child and home care needs.
A new ESRI report found Ireland has the fourth-highest level of unmet needs for childcare and the second-highest rate for home care. It found cost to be the main barrier to childcare for families, while the availability was the biggest problem for those seeking home care services.
