Issue of mouth cancer raised during awareness day
300 cases of mouth cancer are detected in Ireland each year, while around 100 people die from the disease. Today is Mouth Cancer Awareness Day and people are being urged to be aware of the symptoms. People can avail of free examinations at certain dental surgeries across County Wexford today. Dr Gillian Smith, from the Irish Dental Association, says two people die from this disease each week.
