Leaving and junior cert exams underway for over 4,000 wexford students
The first exams in the Leaving and Junior Cert got underway today. English Paper One was first up for over 4,000 students in County Wexford. Four million examination papers will be handed out over the coming weeks in around 100 subjects. Education columnist with the Irish Times, Brian Mooney, says it is a chance for students to show what they can do. "They will be successful in their own sense - whatever it is they have done, the work they have put in, now is the time to go out there this morning and to show all of the effort that you have put in" he said. "Nobody's out there trying to trip you up". "The State Examination Commission, your teachers, your principal - everybody's there willing you on, and hoping you'll be able to show the talent and skill that you have" he added.
