The Irish Aviation Authority is among those welcoming the decision to allow a low cost airline to open a new route to the US. The US Department of Transportation has given approval to Norwegian Air to operate the Cork to Boston route. The airline plans to operate the direct service four or five times a week. The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has also welcomed the decision. He's suggesting Norwegian Air may have the same effect on flight costs as Ryanair had in Europe.
