Motorists in Wexford are being advised to expect delays on one of the busiest roads in the county as essential roadworks are scheduled to take place from today Tuesday, January 20 to Friday, January 23. The N11, a vital route that connects the New Ross Roundabout near the Newtown Park Hotel to Ferrycarrig is a key artery for traffic heading into Wexford town and also serves as the main route for drivers heading south toward Rosslare Europort. Given the high volume of traffic along this stretch these works are expected to impact daily commuters and travelers. Wexford County Council has announced that the work will be carried out at nighttime with crews operating between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night. The stop/go traffic management system will be in place during these hours allowing for the necessary pavement surface improvement work to be completed. While the local authority is aiming to complete the work by the night of Friday, January 23, motorists are urged to expect delays, particularly during the evening and early morning hours. It’s also important to note that the schedule is weather dependent and any changes or delays due to unforeseen weather conditions could result in adjustments to the timing of the works at short notice. Local authorities are working to ensure the works cause as little disruption as possible but the high volume of traffic in this area means that some hold-ups are unavoidable.
