Major Water Main Burst Causes Supply Disruptions in Enniscorthy

Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a major burst water main in Enniscorthy, with a number of homes and businesses across the town experiencing water supply disruptions.

The burst has affected customers in Nunnery Road, Moyne, Moran Park, Old Dublin Road, Sean Brown Court, Coolnahorna, Ballinahallin, Green Ville Lane, Booren Hill and surrounding areas.

Uisce Éireann says repair crews are on site and every effort is being made to restore normal water supplies as quickly as possible.

Padraig Lyng of Uisce Éireann acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the unplanned outage and thanked customers for their patience while works are ongoing.

"We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned interruption, and we thank customers for their support while our works continue," he said.

Repairs are currently expected to be completed by 2pm today. However, Uisce Éireann has advised that it can take between two and three hours after repairs are finished for water supplies to return fully across the network.

Customers located at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience longer delays as the system gradually recharges.

Traffic management measures have been put in place around the work area to ensure the safety of repair crews and members of the public. Motorists are advised to follow all signage and allow extra time for journeys in the affected area.
