Man Jailed For Life Over New Ross Murder

WARNING ⚠   DISTRESSING CONTENT  A man has been handed a life sentence for murdering his 8-year-old daughter in Co Wexford a few weeks before Christmas last year. Muhammed Shaker Al Tamimi, of Lower William Street, New Ross, killed her in front of her mother who was unable to stop him because he also attacked her with a kitchen knife. Malika Al-Khatib was just 8 years old. He wasn’t long back in their lives, having not been involved since Malika was a baby. On the night in question, he accused Aisha of cheating on him and after becoming angry when she tried to leave he started stabbing her with a kitchen knife. When their daughter came downstairs and pleaded with him to stop the court heard he turned on her, attacking her with a bigger knife he had fetched from the kitchen. In that moment Aisha said the mask dropped, the monster was standing in front of me. She said what haunts her most is that he smiled at her as he stabbed their daughter, a smile she will never forget. For murdering his daughter, Muhammad al-Shakaar al-Tamimi was handed a life sentence, which will only take effect once he has completed a 10 year prison sentence for the attempted murder of Aisha.
