Crisis talks on the future of the Bausch and Lomb plant are continuing in Co Waterford. Management representatives and officials from SIPTU have been meeting since 9 o'clock this morning. The company - which employs 11-hundred people - is seeking 200 redundancies and a 20 per cent pay cut from the remaining staff. The contact lens manufacturer is warning that if an agreement isn't reached on the proposals - it will be forced to close the facility in Waterford city.
