Wexford's Junior Minister for Defence attended the first meeting of the new National Security Council yesterday.
It's been set up to oversee Ireland's national security planning and to gauge the threat of any possible terror attacks. It includes five ministers, the heads of ten government departments, and figures from the Gardai and Defence Forces. Defence Minister Paul Kehoe says lessons are being learned from live training exercises.
