Mothballing of ASD Hub Extension at Good Counsel College is a scandalous betrayal of children with special needs

The Department of Education’s decision to halt the ASD Hub Extension at Good Counsel College in New Ross has been slammed as a betrayal of children with special needs.

The €2.29 million project was approved and urgently required to increase capacity for students with Autism, but now the school faces a reduction in special education places due to overcrowding.

Wexford TD George Lawlor has  condemned the move, calling it a direct contradiction to the government’s promises to prioritize special education.
