Members of the Naval Service involved in the mission to rescue migrants in the Mediterranean were honoured at a medal ceremony this morning.
54 crew members who served on the L.É. Eithne in 2015 are the first to receive the new International Operational Service Medal. The honour recognises personnel who've served on overseas missions. Also receiving a medal were members of the Defence Force deployed to Sierra Leone during the Ebola Crisis. They were presented by Wexford TD and Minister with Responsibility for Defence, Paul Kehoe at a ceremony in Rosslare Harbour.
