New emergency department at wexford general hospital to open today

The official opening of the new Emergency Department at Wexford General Hospital takes place this afternoon from 3 o'clock. The new ED is the first part of a 20 million euro investment at the hospital with a new maternity unit expected to be opened on schedule in September. The Emergency Department will now have 17 individual cubicles compared to the old space which had 4 beds. The department is expected to be fully operational by next Wednesaday.
