No wards closed at Wexford General Hospital

Despite reports, the HSE have this afternoon confirmed to South East Radio News that in Wexford General Hospital no wards are currently closed.

The hospital says there are restrictions on visitors to one small part of the hospital on operational and infection control grounds.

It says such measures are sometimes necessary to prevent the spread of infections such as norovirus among patients, visitors and staff.

Wexford General Hospital is thanking the public for their co-operation and understanding while the restrictions are in place.
