Officers from Revenue’s Customs Service at Rosslare Europort seized almost 15 thousand Euro in cash after a sniffer dog raised the alert.
The cash was discovered on Friday when the dog showed interest in a piece of luggage belonging to a Romanian national who had arrived on a ferry from France. The sum of €14,850 was seized by Revenue under the Proceeds of Crime legislation. In Wexford District Court on Friday evening, Revenue was granted a three month detention order for the cash while further investigations are carried out.
