Over 90 SETU Graduates Honoured in 2025 Wexford Conferring Ceremony

More than 90 graduates from South East Technological University (SETU) were officially conferred with their academic awards during a special ceremony held at the National Opera House in Wexford town. The ceremony was a proud moment for students from SETU’s Summerhill Road Campus, as well as for their families, friends and lecturers who gathered to celebrate years of hard work and dedication. Graduates received awards across 20 diverse programmes, including art, visual communications and design, early childhood education, tourism and event management, digital media, business and sustainable farm management. Presiding over the event were Professor Patrick Prendergast, Pro-Chancellor and Chair of SETU’s Governing Body; Dr Patricia Mulcahy, Pro-President and Vice President for Global Partnerships; and Dr Karen Hennessey, Head of the Wexford Campus. In her address, Dr Mulcahy commended the graduates for their perseverance and success. “It is a privilege to be here in Wexford’s National Opera House to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates,” she said. “Each of you has shown great resilience and ambition. You are now part of a growing community of SETU alumni who contribute to our region and beyond.” She also encouraged graduates to carry their compassion and knowledge into the wider world, reminding them that “true success lies not only in achievement, but in leading with compassion, and using your knowledge to make a difference.” This Wexford conferring forms part of SETU’s 2025 graduation season, which celebrates over 3,600 graduates across its campuses in Waterford, Carlow, and Wexford.
