PRESIDENTIAL AWARD RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED The late broadcaster Terry Wogan is among a list of Irish abroad to receive this year's Presidential Distinguished Service Award. The awards recognise leaders in a variety of areas including the arts, community support, business and peace and reconciliation. It was set up in 2011 as part of the Global Economic Forum. Other recipients include Nora Higgins, who works with the elderly Irish community in London and Brendan Fay and Kathleen Walsh d'Arcy, who have campaigned for the rights of the LGBT Irish community in the United States.
