Property tax for county wexford to be decided on monday
We'll know by Monday whether the local property tax for County Wexford will be reduced or increased. County Councils have the opportunity to change the tax by 15 per cent for next year. However Mayor of Wexford - Labour's George Lawlor - has previously said that we couldn't possibily think of cutting the tax as we're already having to receive a top up from other counties to cover the costs of our services next year. Chairman of Wexford County Council Malcolm Byrne says we'll know by next week whether the tax will go up or down in the county. He says a cross party meeting will take place tomorrow with finance officials from the council to look at the range of decisions available.
