Protests over dismantling of leader programme
A number of leader companies from around the country are protesting outside the Dail today. However the Wexford Leader company Wexford Local Development is not part of the protest which is being organised to highlight the dismantling of the current leader structure under government plans. Under the plans decisions on funding will move from Leader companies to a sub committee of the county council. The board of WLD made a decision not to suppport today's march which is timed to coincide with the last day in office of the Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan.
