Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge To Close Again Next Week

Further road closures are on the way for the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge in New Ross.

Repair works on Pier 4 will continue next week with the Eastbound Lane 2 closed from 7:30am to 3:30pm on Monday and Tuesday.

Both lanes will be closed from 7:30am to 3:30pm on Wednesday and Thursday while the works are set to finish for this week at 2:30pm on Friday.

Overnight works were carried out on that part of the bridge this week with traffic diverted through New Ross town as a result.

Wexford County Council say a contingency of two additional shifts has been included to allow for adverse weather conditions or unforeseen delays. 

Further information for closures from 5th to the 9th of October will be posted next week.

Quality control checks were carried out on the bridge in May and these works are seen as a continution of those.

The river crossing is the largest bridge in the country and is a vital link between counties Wexford and Waterford.

The council has also thanked all road users for their patience and cooperation while these essential works are carried out.
