Ross accuses drink companies of lobbying against new drink driving laws

The Transport Minister's accused the Vintners Federation of Ireland and other groups of cynically lobbying against new drink driving laws.

Shane Ross is proposing to ban first time offenders caught at the lower limit - currently they don't get disqualified and just get a fine and penalty points. He's told the Oireachtas transport committee all research shows this needs to be done and says it wasn't based on what's now been shown to be fake breath test data.
