Rural wexford post offices under threat of closure
Post offices across rural County Wexford will close if the government continues to move to electronic payments. That's according to Post mistress in Foulksmills Caroline Fox. She says that even though they have the social welfare contract - the government wants people to use bank accounts - which she says will force smaller offices to close. There's also a risk from the new 'Post and Pay' partnership An Post has with Tesco. Post mistress Caroline Fox says it doesn't make sense to have people being paid into a bank account as they have all the services the government needs.
