Shatter to address the cabinet over gsoc controversey
The Justice Minister will brief the Cabinet this morning over claims the office of the Garda Ombudsman was bugged. GSOC confirmed last night that an investigation was carried out last year which uncovered three technical and electrical 'anomalies'. It said no databases were breached and no evidence of Garda misconduct was found - so the investigation was discontinued. The Garda Commissioner, Martin Callinan, has weighed in on the controversy saying he is seeking clarification as to the basis for the suspicion of any Garda involvement.
