Siptu members at ferns diocesan youth service strike
SIPTU members at Ferns Diocesan Youth Service in Wexford staged strike action this morning. It's in a row over changes by management to sick leave benefit and it's refusal to engage with their union. A picket took place at the FDYS-run Creche on Francis Street in Wexford Town while another picket took place at the FDYS head office. SIPTU Organiser, Gerry Flanagan, said staff have been left with no option after management's refusal to engage with the union or the Labour Relations Commission. It follows the removal of a sick pay scheme for employees.
