Six men discovered inside shipping container at Rosslare Europort

Gardaí have opened an investigation after six men were discovered inside a shipping container at Rosslare Europort.

Emergency services were alerted this morning (Thursday) when one of the people inside the container made a distress call.

The container was being transported on a ship travelling to Rosslare.

Gardaí and personnel from the National Ambulance Service were dispatched to the port, and after the vessel docked, it was searched and six men were located inside one of the containers on board.

The group, comprising five adults and one juvenile, were all taken to Wexford General Hospital.

Three of the men remain in hospital, where they are being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Two adults have been refused permission to land, while the juvenile is receiving appropriate supports.
