South East Radio Heads To IMRO Awards Tonight

South East Radio will be hoping for national recognition tonight after securing a record four nominations at the 2026 IMRO Radio Awards.

The awards take place this evening at the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny and are regarded as one of the biggest nights in the Irish radio industry.

The annual event celebrates excellence across local, regional and national broadcasting, recognising achievement in areas including news, current affairs, speech, music, sport, entertainment and specialist programming.

South East Radio has been shortlisted in four categories this year:

• Current Affairs Programme of the Year

• Specialist Speech Programme of the Year

• Podcast of the Year

• Magazine Programme of the Year

The four nominations represent one of the station's strongest showings at the national awards and reflect recognition across a broad range of programming.

The IMRO Radio Awards are judged by panels drawn from across the broadcasting and media industry with entries assessed on the quality of the programmes submitted.

The winners will be announced during tonight's gala ceremony at the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny.
