South East Radio Presents One Day Many Voices

South East Radio will join radio stations across Ireland tomorrow, Thursday September 24th, for a special day of broadcasting celebrating diversity, inclusion and the many different voices that make up our communities.

One Day, Many Voices will see 23 independent radio stations around the country place people and experiences that may not always be heard on the airwaves at the heart of their programming.

The national initiative has been developed by Learning Waves and is supported through Coimisiún na Meán’s Sound & Vision scheme, with funding from the Television Licence Fee.

Here in County Wexford, South East Radio will be showcasing voices from across the community throughout the day — giving people the opportunity to tell their own stories, in their own words.

Listeners will hear from people living with disabilities, members of the migrant community, people with Down syndrome and others whose experiences can offer a different perspective on life in Ireland today.

The aim is not only to celebrate difference, but to start conversations around identity, accessibility, culture, belonging and inclusion, while also highlighting some of the barriers people continue to face.

South East Radio is one of the stations taking part nationally describing the initiative as a celebration of radio's ability to connect communities across the country.
