A special evening celebrating the life and legacy of St. Moling will take place at the Heritage Centre in St. Mullins on Wednesday, June 17th.
The event, beginning at 6.30pm, will bring together members of the community, history enthusiasts and visitors for an evening dedicated to the rich heritage of St. Mullins and one of Ireland's most significant early Christian figures.
A highlight of the evening will be the official unveiling of a facsimile of the famous Book of Mulling, an important medieval manuscript closely associated with St. Moling and the historic monastic settlement at St. Mullins.
Guests will be welcomed with a wine and canapés reception before enjoying an evening of storytelling, discussion and reflection in the surroundings of the Heritage Centre.
The event will feature a guest lecture from renowned historian Dr. Elizabeth Boyle, a lecturer at Maynooth University and specialist in the cultural and religious history of medieval Ireland. Dr. Boyle is the author of numerous books and academic publications, including History and Salvation in Medieval Ireland, as well as the bestselling essay collection Fierce Appetites, which was shortlisted for Nonfiction Book of the Year at the Irish Book Awards.
Organisers say the event offers a unique opportunity to explore the history of St. Mullins and the enduring influence of St. Moling on the area's cultural heritage.
Tickets cost €15, with all proceeds going directly to support the Heritage Centre.
The event is proudly sponsored by Caulfield Financial Ltd and The Mullicháin Café.
